What we think we know about the new iPods

We think we know that there is a new iPod Nano coming in the early Fall. I understand it is going to be offered in larger capacities like 8 and perhaps 10 GB and I believe it is likely to have bluetooth and possibly might be offered in different colors. There has been some talk of it supporting video but I don't think that is necessary on a small screen. Additionally, we know there is a new iPod video coming. The question is are there two iPod videos coming with different form factors?

Functionality list for the Ipod Video?

This is what one person thinks Apple will give us with the Ipod Video Plus, I think it's a dream list but it's anyones guess.

• Display is a widescreen-type LCD with a resolution of 480 x 272, 16M colors
• 2 capacities will be available - 40gb ($ 449) and 80gb ($ 599)
• Plays h.264, MPEG-2, and MPEG-4 videos up to DVD (720x480) resolution• Video output quality is greatly improved over the iPod
• Has an IR port compatible with the Apple Remote that ships with iMacs
• Battery life will be around 5-6 hours for video, 18-20 hours for audio (screen off)
• Main menu will be much like Apple's Front Row application• Comes with a full version of Quicktime Pro for making and converting videos
• Comes with an AC adapter & basic video cable
• A dock and upgraded video cables will be available as accessories• Does not have line-in video recording capability

Another orientation showing what a film could look like. I wonder if Apple will beging introducing movies when this version comes out. Makes sense if the screen is more like a PSP screen.

It's unclear whether or not the orientation will be this way or horizontal, but this mockup shows how it could look. What are some good possible names? Ipod Extra? Ipod Large? Ipod Full? Would love to see suggestions in the comment section.
